Tilers

Tiling business with clean grout

Measure the bathroom, calculate the tiles, write the quote: that costs evenings. craftflowOS turns a photo and a few words into a draft while you're still in the bathroom.

What matters for a tiler between substrate, material and neighbouring trades

Documenting the substrate and waterproofing in wet areas

In a bathroom, what lies under the tiles decides how things hold up for many years. Whether the substrate was level, sound and dry, and how the waterproofing was built up, nobody can see afterwards. If a moisture problem appears later, people ask who did what and when. So record every step while it is still visible: condition of the substrate, primer, waterproofing, connections at wall, floor and penetrations. Dated photos show the condition, short notes the build-up. If a previous trade worked badly, tell the customer before you tile. That is awkward, but it protects you from the accusation of having caused someone else's mistake.

Cutting waste and tile format in the quote

Tiles are not laid in exactly the quantity that matches the floor area. Cuts, breakage, angled walls and patterns create waste, and large formats or diagonal laying increase it. If you only calculate the bare area, you buy too little and have to reorder, often with a different shade from a new batch. So add an allowance for waste and show it in the quote, along with the extra effort for large formats or small mosaics. The customer then sees why the quantity is bigger than their own measurement. With the product chat of craftflowOS you describe what you are looking for and find matching items from your range, with picture and short description. What fits, you take over into the quote.

Coordinating with plumbing and drywall

Tiling is rarely the first trade and almost never the last. Before you, the plumber and the drywaller do their work, afterwards come sanitary fittings, sealant and painters. If the order has not been agreed, you face half-finished work. If the plumber has not closed the pre-wall yet or the taps arrive later, you lose time. So clarify early: who does what by when, when is the room free, and who is responsible for damage to someone else's work? Agree it with everyone involved and write the dates down instead of relying on a call across the site. That makes your business more reliable, and rework caused by misunderstandings becomes rarer.

Questions from the workshop

Can I write the quote in the bathroom already?

Yes. Take a photo, say briefly what needs doing, and craftflowOS suggests the items from your catalogue. You check and send it.

Does the app run in a basement bathroom without signal?

Yes, for the essentials: you can save appointments, site documentation and quote drafts even without signal. They are sent as soon as your phone has a connection again.

Does the invoice match the quote?

The invoice is built from your project data and goes out by e-mail as a PDF with your own letterhead. E-invoicing and GoBD compliance come with every plan.

How do I record my people's hours?

Clocking in, out and breaks are recorded in the app on the right project, you approve the times and can export them. You can book additional seats at any time.

Where is my customer data stored?

Your data is stored on servers in Germany and processed in line with GDPR. The app only uses camera and microphone for photos and speech, and in your system settings you decide what it may do.
